Many believe Apple mobile devices are dominating the business world, but a recent survey conducted by Strategy Analytics found more organizations are planning to purchase Android than devices running on the iOS mobile operating system.
The Strategy Analytics Mobile Workforce Strategies service report, “Enterprise Mobility Market 2012 & Beyond,” found that across the world nearly all tablets and smartphones are corporate-liable devices, with many businesses around the world employing a bring-your-own-device policy.
With the advent of operating systems such as Android and iOS for corporate devices, BlackBerry devices, powered by Research In Motion, are losing traction in the business world. However, the mobile device market is still in flux.
“A snapshot of the winning and losing players in the enterprise mobility market today will likely look very different a year or two from now, as organizations adjust mobility plans based on the evolving needs of increasingly mobile businesses and workforces,” said Mark Levitt, director of enterprise software and communications research at Strategy Analytics.
In today’s world, mobile device usage is necessary to improve speed and efficiency in the workplace, and protecting data stored on those devices with the proper business insurance policies is a must.
