Many business executives are becoming more tech-savvy, relying more on location-based applications that allow them to do more business on-the-go, according to a recent JiWire study.

The research found 70 percent of C-level executives use location-based apps on a more than weekly basis, while 73 percent of small business owners are using these applications daily.

At the same time that business leaders are embracing mobility, consumers are also using mobile devices more frequently to purchase goods. Mobile purchases are also becoming more popular across the United States, meaning more people are connecting to public Wi-Fi. Fifty-five percent of those who connect to public Wi-Fi use it due to its fast internet speeds, the study found.

“Consumers seem to be both comfortable and curious about using their mobile phones to purchase,” said Dee Dee Paeseler, director of strategic marketing at JiWire. “This trend is likely to help both brands and retailers close the loop on mobile transactions, ultimately taking them to the next level.”

These advancements in technology are giving business professionals the opportunity to do more business from their mobile devices and through innovations in technology. While better technology makes doing business easier from a mobile device, these enterprises need to protect themselves with business insurance policies to provide protection in the event customer data loss occurs.
