Rihanna, the world-famous pop star, listed her home in Beverly Hills for $4.5 million, $2.4 million less than she bought it for in 2009. The residence is involved in a lawsuit filed against Prudential Realty and other agencies in which she claims the home was falsely advertised and is vulnerable to leaks, The Huffington Post reports.
The issue at hand involves the property’s balcony. According to Rihanna, the floor inside is slightly lower than the balcony, which causes flooding issues even during moderate rainstorms.
“If Rihanna did, in fact, perform due diligence in purchasing the property and existing problems were not disclosed, then, in the state of California as in many other states, she would have a case,” real estate experts for Zillow suggest.
In addition, Rihanna’s lawsuit claims she would not have acquired the property in 2009 for $6.9 million had she known of this issue. The engineer and other parties involved may be making professional liability insurance claims as the suit moves along.
Rihanna noticed the leak in February 2010 after a rainstorm and states the residence in inhabitable under such circumstances.
