Business management and services company Sage recently completed its listening tour, where it spoke to business owners around the country to get a sense for the owners’ outlook concerning the small business field.

According to the company, many of the small business owners they spoke to are optimistic about their companies, but still have concerns about what the future might bring.

“What we found was that many small businesses are grappling with similar concerns, which echo those we identified in our recent accountants survey and the Sage Global Business Index survey,”

The recent Sage Business Index survey showed that 46 percent of small business owners believe the economy is improving, but only 36 percent believe their business will have better prospects for improvement in the near future.

The survey also focused on major concerns that these small business owners have. Some of those mentioned were keeping up with the changes and complexity of tax law and keeping up with regulations on small firms and professional standards. Small businesses who find themselves unable to handle these issues may encounter legal problems as a result.

In an industry with constantly changing regulatory policies, it is important for small business owners to have errors and omissions insurance coverage, to protect them from the financial consequences of errors they could make as a result of being uninformed.
